It's very important to me and the rest of the members of my staff that you find this site to be a useful resource for information regarding your Sheriff's Office. The website has several useful tools including sex offender and inmate release notifications as well as email and mobile alerts regarding weather, traffic and news. The sex offender tab allows you to see all registered sex offenders in Mercer County and to sign up for email notifications when an offender registers in your neighborhood. The jail inmate search tab allows you to see current and past inmates and sign up for release notifications. On the home page you will find a link to NIXLE, which allows a user to register an email address and/or cell phone to receive updates when a weather alert, amber alert, news release or road closure is issued for Mercer County. We will continually update our tools as new technologies become available.

The Mercer County Sheriff's Office Seeks Public Comment
The Mercer County Sheriff's Office is seeking accredited status from the Ohio Collaborative Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (OCLEAP).
The Mercer County Sheriff's Office invites feedback from the public regarding its compliance with OCLEAP standards, engagement in the community, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for accredited status. These comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns. The overall intent of the accreditation process is to provide participating agencies with information to support continuous improvement, as well as foster the pursuit of professional excellence.

NOTE:OCLEAP is not an investigatory body. The public comment forum should not be used to submit information for such purposes. Additionally, there will be no response from OCLEAP other than acknowledgment of submissions; however, the information will be considered in context to its relevancy to compliance with standards and the tenets of OCLEAP accreditation. All comments will be forwarded to the agency.
